I have a 2000BD with your standard seat. The problem is after an hour of mowing my back is killing me. Are there any seat springs available that would replace the hard rubber stops below the seat?

I saw a recent post where someone went to a riding mower dealer and got springs intended for the riding mower.

And long ago someone posted that he used valve springs.

I replaced my flattened bumpers with identical new replacements, then replaced the seat with the generic one you see on the cleaned up gray market Yanmars. It has 1.5 inches (??) of foam rubber. This works ok.

I got a couple of old valve springs from a automotive machine shop that I placed where the rubber bumpers were under the seat. Much better than the stock rubber bumpers and free to boot. They have been in place couple of years now and I'd have to wonder why Yanmar ever used the rubber bumpers.

I brazed fender washers to the bottom of the valve springs and they bolt down right where the old rubber ones went. A piece of 1x4 across the bottom of the seat made the seat angle perfect and gave the thin metal on the seat bottom some support.

I have begun to think that suspension seat may be the answer to my back pain. It would be more expensive and require some rigging to install but they are adjustable for weight and I believe the up and down action would be better than the pivot back action on many mower seats.

Today, I Installed seat springs on my 2210. I have a Cub Cadet 2166 riding mower and noticed that the seat springs on it would probably work well on the 2210. I ordered a pair from partstree.com and they installed in a few minutes with some new bolts. Getting the old rubber bumbers off was the hardest part.
