When I'm working the tractor yes indeed I buckle up,for it takes only second to snap the latch.
Injuries may take a life time to recover.
Far as rolling over..no..came close w/wagon full of bale hay being pull by Farmall H trike. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Rollovers with ROPS/FOPS installed and seatbelts worn are a common sense approach to operating your tractor. However I can offer another "incentive" for wearing your belts. If you ever encounter an "imovable" object with the FEL in a lower position at speed you can prevent that male tender spot from
encountering another "imovable" object. Such as the steering
wheel or shifter...../w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

That is a shame and such a pretty tractor.
Yeah, you will be drawn and quartered on the "other" site if you mention seatbelts and ROP's.
I use mine. The only time I remove my belt is when backing out of the garage. That is just me though cuz I like my head on my shoulders and not squashed between my knees.
I cannot imagine using a machine without these crucial safety devices and including GT's and LT's and those ZTR's.

When I was a child a drunk driver pulled out in front of my mother and I. The car was a 56 Ford Fairlane I think. I do not remember seat belts but I do remember the metal dashboard that removed my teeth and my mothers and I remember also going through the windshield. It was the second time the crows called for me. Thanks to the drunk I went through most of my schooling and teen years with no teeth while my bones grew before they could fix the mess entirely (and it plagues me yet) and my beautiful raven haired mother had to have a bridge and jaw/facial surgery. Time does not heal all wounds. My brother has his own story because he lost his wife--she would not wear a belt. I suggest wearing your belts.

Robert... excellent picture...

For years before ROPS/Seat belts... deaths were a given... 99.9% You will die... you will not get injured...! if you are involved in a tractor rollover...You're Dead!

There is absolutely no excuse for not wearing a seat belt with the ROPS upright... if you don't want to wear the belt... Don't operate the tractor... let someone else do it...

Bird said it the best..."It just doesn't feel right...Without the seat belt ON..."

A seatbelt and ROPS were high on my list of reasons for buying a new tractor last year. Among a million other safety reasons and the "I want one" reason.

I had an L175 without a ROPS and Seatbelt and I almost rolled it twice doing stupid things and my property is pretty flat. The first time i needed to move a pallet of brick pavers about 10 feet so I hooked a chain through the pallet and around the draw bar on my 3pt hitch (bad idea). I was moving very slow and after I had gotten about 5 feet the pallet dug into the dirt a little and before I could blink the tractor was standing up on end. I happened so fast I couldn't beleive it. I pushed in the clutch but I was balanced precariously with the tractor pointing straight up into the air. I reached behind me and put my hand on the ground a gave a little push and the front of the tractor came back down. I new I shouldn't connect a chain to a point above the axle but I needed to lift the front edge of the pallet a little and I figured I could be real careful while moving the pallet a couple feet. I don't do that anymore. BTW, I was home alone when that happened....I never did tell my wife.

The second time happened when I was mowing the lawn. I backed up near a small embankment and stopped quickly. The rear wheels had gone down the embankment a little and when I stepped on the brakes the front of the tractor lifted off the ground about a foot. I realized that if I had backed down the embankment another couple feet and did that same thing I could easily flip the tractor over.

I realized how dangerous the tractor could be and didn't let my wife really use it at all.

Since I eventually want the kids to be able to mow the lawn and I realized that I would never let them get on the old L175 I convinced my wife we should get the L3010 now and we would be all set down the road. The new machine is so much safer all around I am glad I did it.....plus it's a lot more fun.

I always wear mine, but the primary reason that I started was, when mowing, my ground is so rough that I would bounce all around in the seat. The seatbelt keeps me sitting tight. Have to stop and loosen it up every once and awhile, as the tensioner tightens up pretty good with all the bouncing.
