I tilled about 3 acres in somewhere around 5 hours today. Tilled one pass on very hard, heavy clay with vegetation on it. Tilled maybe 3 inches deep (seems a lot deeper the way it fluffs it up) and the tiller did a GREAT job!

I'm not surprised about how well the tiller did, but very pleased now that I went with the 60". The other day when I was trying it out, it was a little wet and I was trying to go too deep and too fast. Raising it just a little, and going just a little slower makes all the difference, and the tractor really had little trouble with the tiller today.

And it looks great. I'm gonna wait about 3 weeks and spread fertilizer, then re-till and plant my bermuda!!

Alan L, I know what you mean. The other day I was too dry. Got a half inch of rain last night. Just got off the tractor. It went like a hot knife thru butter. I guess there is a learning curve about these things. I was tilling pasture that had never been broken up. Going to replant a small test plot.
