Secret to hooking up PTO shaft

I hate those PTO shafts with the collar. Stupid design idea. Pull back while you push forward.... really? In any event for me the trick is to keep not only the collar lubed, but the shaft as well. I hit it with a bit of 3 in 1 oil. Makes it slide easier. I get the first half inch or so on without worrying about the collar or button. Then once lined up and partially on deal with the collar or button so I can put it the rest of the way on.

Exactly, you took the words right out of my mouth. It's even harder with a no extra room pto winch on tractor, one of these days........... that's shaft is going to be changed into something more civilized..................

Sometimes I struggle with the PTO shaft when attaching my RFM, but this year, easy peasy.. never had it so easy. Probably have issues next year since I won't remember how it was so easy this year.

Everything boils down to the big E. I put my backhoe on recently and it was fast and easy. Then off and bush hog on, same thing.
