Kioti CK30 HST
I need to haul a Kioti CK30 HST to a dealer and was wondering about the best way to secure it to the trailer with the PHD still on there?

I've got chains and binders and HD ratchet straps. Is there a preferred method to deal with the PHD? Take the auger off? Leave it it on and strap it down?

There is quite a bit of side to side slop in a PHD, and I have to travel 200 miles.

Any tips appreciated..Images a would be very helpful.

Thank You

Since you must want to take the PHD to the dealer with your tractor, then I would take the auger off since even if you lower the 3PH the auger might move quite a bit even strapped down over a 200 mile trip. If you don't need to take the PHD then I would just drop it...I know they are hard to reconnect so an easy way to drop it is to pick a spot where you don't mind storing it and drill a hole with the auger and take it off there allowing the auger to sit in the hole and just put a tarp over it ..then when you want to reconnect just back up to it....makes it simple.

If I had to take the PHD, I think taking the auger off would work easier. Maybe toss it in the loader bucket and throw a strap over it. Otherwise, they do want to wiggle and jiggle and flop all over the place...

If you have the room on the trailer and you need to take the PHD to the shop, you could load the tractor with the PHD connected. Then, with the digger just touching the trailer deck, remove the top link. This may allow you to "fold" the digger onto the trailer as you lower the 3-pt.

Just a thought ...

I transported mine over 1100 miles and left the auger on. I made a wood block that I secured to the deck of the trailer. The block had a 3 inch hole in the middle that the point of the auger sat in. I then chained the PHD to the trailer and it never moved the entire trip.

I put a block of wood with a hole on it to accept the tip of the augger and use a 2" strap to secure. Works fine.

Hey thanks guys. I have time-so I just might make a block with a hole. Great input from all.

Thanks

I usually pull the auger up and under the tractor so it will set flat. It usually takes 2 guys or a strap pull auger up to the frame and lower it all the way down.

set the PHD down on the trailer, use a 2" ratchet strap and "belly wrap" the the pipe frame of the PHD just in front of the auger gear box, hook to trailer and tighten. The PHD will be pulled, normally towards ratchet side. Once tight the PHD should not move. Secure tractor at 4 points

On mine I can swing the auger up to the boom and strap it tight to the boom, pull the pto shaft and lowering the hitch drops it down onto the ground. Toss a strap over it and you're good. Its how I take it on and off to store it.

It does leave the plastic bell on the pto shaft cover wrinkled from the tight bend but doesn't affect the function.
