Securing the bottom of a pair of sliding barn doors?

For a secure door you could consider a magnetic door lock that is powered by 12V like the PDF attached. THis would need a switch to lock but would also secure the door and contents.

The other option could be to attach a magnet to the door and pins on a swivel in the middle on either side of the door front/back so when the doors and magnets move over the area the pins swivel up holding the door in place. This would be simple but you would need to make it so debris doesnt impact the swivel pins - easier said than done.

Our hangar doors secure with holes drilled in the concrete. And, 1/2" steel pins that are pointed on the end, and have an "L" bend on the other end for a handle.

The door frames are steel. There is a hole in the frame, so that the pins can go through the frame, and into the floor.

You could alternately make a bolt on bracket with a hole in it, the pin could go through.

I also have a horse barn with 2 sliding doors. I have a tee at the bottom where the doors meet this keeps them from blowing or moving. I then installed a in and out latch that lets me open the door if I am outside without having to walk around to my small entry door. and if I am inside I can still open it up even if its locked on the outside. I don't keep my horse barn locked so if there were a fire or something someone could get my horses out if I wasn't around. But I like the fact that I can use my sliders like an entry door and still be able to lock them if I want. I have had some really heavy winds in my area the past year and never had a problem with this setup.
