Seeding Pasture

HoustonBrama,
I am over in Stewart County, near Dover. In every county in Tennessee, there is a USDA farm office. They will let you borrow (rent) their seed drill, and it will plant the seed correctly, cover, and pack. It costs six dollars per acre. Very inexpensive way to get the use of a $30,000 machine. It will also save on wasted seed.

I really want to use one, but the ones in our county require one set hydraulic remotes and I don't have them on my tractor yet.

I ask a neighbor with remotes to come and set the drill down in plant mode, pull it with my 36hp 4x4 tractor and then neighbor comes back that evening or next morning and uses his larger tractor to put it back up in transport mode. Might see if you have a good neighbor around to do the same? Only drawback is everywhere I pull it after it's down, I plant so I have him set it down near the field I'm planting. Just an idea.
