The main difference between the L3130 and L4240 besides horsepower is weight and physical size.My L3130 had a six foot sub-frame mounted snow plow,the L4240 has a eight foot FEL mounted snow plow.Much heavier at 6500lbs vs maybe 5000lbs.If used in tight quarters the smaller machine is better suited.
My experience; the L3130 when worked hard used one gallon of fuel per hr,the L4240 about one and a quarter gal.per hour.
I kept all my old implements and use them on the new tractor
roto-tiller ,two bottom plow,cultivator,back blade,box-blade ect.,the larger tractor does better with the box-blade.
The main reason I traded was for the CAB,up-graded in size,but would have been happy with a L3240-L3940 HSTC.
In the end I am glad I puchased the L4240,mostly for FEL capacity,just feels saver for what we do.
