If you can go with a 12' door. I put a 10' on mine and it's hard to back a trailer in it with 6-9" clearance on each side.

Here's the 30x50 Carolina Carport we put up last year. It's a gravel floor but the large doors are really a must have for tractors, campers etc. good luck!

Also skylights and a ridge vent are good to have.

I have thought about that. The thing is though, I'm actually considering dropping the roll up door all together. The building is/will be a 20x50 with a 12'x50' porch on one side. Inside will be a 20x35 apartment/living quarters. So that only leaves 15 feet (20x15) of storage area on one end. I don't really see the need for a roll up door on the south end (the 20' end) if there will only be 15' to work with. I couldn't even park my tractor in there comfortably. I was thinking about putting a set of double walk through doors on the porch side for that 20x15 storage end. The apartment will have a normal residential type front door.

I know all this is hard to imagine with just my typed description, but that's the best I can do right now. Thank you repowell for the suggestions anyway though. I really like the way yours turned out with the lean to on both sides. I wanted that type of building exactly a while back. Before I needed a place for Mom to live. The building will have ridge venting the length of the ridge.

Aaron,

Big doors are nice. I went with two 10' X 10'. They are a bit tight to get through with equipment, but I couldn't get 12' doors in with my floor plan and I wanted two doors.

The large porch is a very nice thing! You'll enjoy yours too.

I also included a picture of me using my "bucket boom" to set the steel. Might work for you too.
