Concealed Carry is just about impossible to get here in the SF Bay Area and they even publish a short list with names and addresses of those that have the "Privilege"

Open carry was not as restrictive and became sort of a movement... short lived... but it was open because concealed was not possible.

... but a fox in a field that stands and watches a tractor driving very close and does not run is extremely unusual to say the least. I want another shot in case I miss with the first.

I know that this may be an 'apples & oranges' situation but, I have a family of Masked Lapwings (locally called Plovers). They're a ground nesting & scrounging bird & very aggressively protective of their young. As soon as they see me walking anywhere, they're screeching & carrying-on.

BUT, if I'm on my tractor (either one, doesn't matter) they'll come right up to me or barely get out of the way. As soon as I get off the tractor it's as if I've magically appeared out of the ether! Adults or young-ones, it doesn't matter, same reaction.

How does a hollow point cause unnecessary suffering? If you get shot in the chest by a 9 mm FMG and hollow point both are likely to result in death, but it will happen quicker with a hollow point. The FMG bullet will shoot clean through the intended target leaving more potential to hit an innocent person.

Here are what FMG bullets look like after being fired into dirt.

Here are what hollow points look like after being fired into a milk jug filled with water. These were 500 grain 45-70 bullets and more intake than the average one. Most are completely destroyed and only small shrapnel is left.

Said a Ruger exec that they compete with told them that something will be announced shortly that will either replace the LCP or complement it.

Should I re-visit Santa since I'm pretty sure he was going to leave me an LCP this year.

Don't know about visiting Santa and she didn't say anything about a time frame. Did say that Ruger was running at full production capacity. Said that Kel-Tec had some interesting stuff but wasn't going to go into debt to build a new factory to produce more. Company too profitable now and the owners or managers expect the gun buying frenzy to peak and slow down after Obama leaves office. She said something about S&W and Glock but it had to do with a lawsuit over the M&P series slides fitting on a Glock and S&W having to pay royalties after the suit. I actually think it was her husband talking about that. Of course she could have got her information off internet forums but we will never know.

One thing her husband was telling another customer before she and I started talking was about the trigger reset on various types of automatic handguns. He had a way of demonstrating it to the customer which made him a sale of a rather expensive handgun. And he was telling the customer to not use that pistol as his main carry because it would be hard to conceal.

If I had been in a vacuum cleaner store and heard a clerk talking about the differences in brands and types it would have been interesting to me. Wife says it is the typical male fascination with getting a new toy and tearing it apart to see how it works. But this couple seemed to really know and UNDERSTAND what they were talking about.

Makes me want to pack a lunch and find me a comfortable place to eat while listening to them share their knowledge. :D

For home defense. A nice short 12 gauge pump shotgun, like an 870, in SS, as much magazine capacity as the bbl length will allow and malaysian loads.

If you happen to have a 12 gauge with a blue bbl, sand the end shiny. It makes the hole seem soooooo much bigger!

Don't you just love it when the government tells you, you cannot defend yourself and a law will keep you safe since no one will have a gun. Just stand there like sheep in a pen.

S&W settled out of court with Glock over the design of the Sigma: in 1997. They made one design change and paid them a rumored $5 million. You can buy a used Sigma cheap.
