I have one of these and it works well to move from the shed to the woodpile. Might work for you if it's not hilly where you live.

Can you get a pully onto the shaft of the motor and rig up a belt drive similar to a belt drive on just about any small self propelled yard machines. small riding tractor to tillers to brush mowers etc?

I built one for a customer one time that processed piles of logs. We built the splitter but his tractor was tied uip moving logs. He wanted a movable splitter so I put a Toyota truck axle in under it. I Had mounted the yoke from it to a charlyn gearmotor. This was fine till it ad to be towed then the motor had to be pulled off. I then pulled the transfer case from the the donor truck and mounted it and the short drive shaft to it then put the motor on the end of the transfer case. It worked really good that way.
