I hope I am not too far out of place here, but I need some advice. Hopefully, if most of you own or are interested in tractors, then maybe you also own an old farm truck or two. Well, I have 5 trucks sitting around that need to be sold. They range from 1966-1980,81, or 82? They have all been sitting for a while, but ran when they were parked. What is my best chance/place to sell these trucks?
Thanks!

Don't taking any cashiers checks. Don't sell to any buyers agents. Take cash. Do you have titles to all of the rigs? Do they run? Do you just want them out of your hair? Maybe pick up a Sellers magazine to see what they might be going for ballpark wise. List them on Craigslist if you have that. Are you willing to part them out? If they have hyrdraulics there are a lot of these very creative tractor types that can do stuff with that.
You could donate them in some cases as a tax write off. If you could give more specifics as to make, model, engine, body condition and mileage I would be willing to bet a nickel these guys will give you some good price ranges.

Why is that? (Not challenging you - serious question)

Oh, and you are correct about donating to your favorite charity. Even though the laws changed somewhat you can often get a good tax deduction without the hassle (as long as the charity knows what it is doing)

It was kind of a tongue in cheek comment. As there is a thread on Ebay scams where someone selling equipment or vehicles gets an email from someone interested in whatever they are selling. They tell them their Buyers agent will contact them with a Money order or Cashiers check. They aren't worth the paper they are written on. I am not sure how to link this to that thread. If you go to the Buying /Pricing/Comparison in the discussions forum look at the EBAY Scam posting. So no problem asking at all. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ons/117487-another-tractor-scam-not-ebay.html

All the trucks ran when they were parked, but that has been several years back. 1966 C30 with Flatbed/stake body, 1966 C70 with rebuilt 350 only driven home and parked, 1970 & 1972 F350 with utility body and ladder rack, and 1980 1/2 ton Chevy P/U with bedside toolboxes and ladder rack.

Thanks!

OK, thanks. The Cashier's check problem really is inconvenient. I won't go to a stranger's place with a large quantity of cash so I always used them in the past. Worked well. Now I probably won't buy from a private party unless some arrangement can be made to transact at a bank or something.

If you go to that link and read some of the comments. It could be risky. Some of the guys just said to go to yours or their bank directly and do a transaction. Granted I myself would like to believe and trust in people being honest. So keep your eyes open going into any deal. Carrying a large sum of cash could be risky as well.
I hope that things will go well however you do any transactions.
