JeremyL,
I sold my BX-23 on ebay last year. The first pitfall to avoid is not to use Pay-Pal, although the pay service works, IMO the fees are way to high. Hopefully, you can get someone local to purchase the tractor. Even though I listed my tractor on ebay, the purchaser lived only 60 miles from my house, so it was a cash and carry sale. In your auction clearly list all terms of the sale and state the condition of the tractor, also state in the auction that there is no warranty, and the tractor is sold as is. Concerning payment, I would not let the tractor out of my sight until I had the cash in my hand. If the purchaser is serious about the sale he should be resonable about your payment terms. Do not accept payments through some kind of transfer of funds, and most important do not give out any of your personal bank information such as account numbers. If the person brings you a cashier's check you should check with the issuing bank to make sure the check is real because a fake cashier's check can be produced with a computer. Hope this helps, good luck with your auction.
