Selling New 60\" MMM for BX in New Hampshire

I purchased a new BX2200 in the spring with the Kubota 60" MMM. I took the mower off the day I got the tractor and have never used it. My new house was under construction then and I was thinking I would have a lot of lawn to mow. Well, turns out I really don't. It takes me less than hour to mow with a 22" push mower so the large deck is mucho overkill.

Anyway... I'd like to try to sell it. Please email me at tim.daigle@fmr.com if you're interested. It lists for about $1,600. I'd like to get $1,300/bo.

I can snap a few photos if you're interested.

consider talking to the dealer...... he might take it back in trade for something else that you might want or need.

You of course realize that soon after selling your MMM you will need it and when you price another you will find that purchased seperately they are very expensive and you will be a very sad person /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. J

How can ANY seat time be a bad thing?? If it takes you 20 minutes with the BX, you can do about 20 other things in the 40 mins you saved not pushing a 22 inch mover around. Your time has to be worth something /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I would keep the mower, it will make your tractor more attractive if you ever need to sell it.

Re: Selling New 60\" MMM for BX in New Hampshire

Tim_in_NH,

Unless you really need the money from the sale and/or positively cannot store the mower, I suggest to keep it for the following reasons.

1.) What you're asking for it really is probably only a couple hundred (O.K., maybe $500-$600) more than a high quality push mower, if and when you need a replacement.

2.) If next spring during peak grass growing season your push mower quits, or worse, you twist an ankle or throw out your back, you can use the BX to handle the mowing chores.

3.) If the need arises in the near future and you have to sell your BX (heaven forbid /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif, unless of course it's to trade-up to a new B or L /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), I would think it would be easier to sell with the mid-mount mower and I would also think you would easily recoup your money with the sale.

4.) When it's nice and cool and you need/want the exercise, use the push mower. When it's high 90's and humid and you wish to get back into the air-conditioned house ASAP, use the BX to cut your lawn.

5.) Ahhh..heck...always use the BX. Any seat time is good. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good Luck,

Tim,

This may sound strange...but could you be missing the obvious?

Maybe you really should sell both the BX and the mower!

I checked your profile but could not get an idea of how much property you have or what your actual needs might be...

Myself I would probably keep both...I know the feeling though...I may have an acre of grass to cut right now and it is over so quick I have to sneak over onto my neighbor's and cut a bit of his to make it feel like I am getting my money's worth out of the bx... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif [he told me I can even take the grass home with me if I want... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ]

Henro,

Ummm....Henro...you feelin' O.K.? I'm a bit worried. When I read that you suggested he sell the BX and the mower I really was expecting you to recommend that he buy a B2910 with mower and backhoe for his other work.

You weren't really serious, were you? Say it isn't so! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

C'mon...we're a Kubota group here...we might trade-up...sometimes even trade down...some of us even go as far as to buy more than one Kubota....but gee whizz...you can't recommend that he sell his Kubota without recommending another tractor...of any color. It just ain't American!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rick,

Sometimes I get weak and common sense overwhelms me...but I am back to normal now...

You are right. Tim should sell the 60" mower...no doubt about that. He should have bought a zero turn to accompany that BX2200 to begin with! That is so obvious I totally missed it! He could cut his mowing time to 10 minutes that way! Be done so quick he would not have time to worry about whether he needed that mower or not! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

"I know what I was feelin', but what was I thinkin' ???"

Glad to see your recovery was quick and painless. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
