Once you've cut with a 72" deck and/or a diesel motor, no gas 54" job will do.

I agree with the diesel, but I prefer a narrower deck. Better cut quality ( I only care about that on paying yards ) and they're easier to get around a smaller yard. If I was only mowing my own yard a 72" would be great.

Problem is there are a lot of attachments, guns, and ammo, that I can buy with the $10K difference.

I paid only $3500 for my diesel mower. I had the opportunity to buy a Kubota diesel ZTR with nice grass catcher for $5500.
