Apart from that, I think you nailed it ... no politics, no religion, no contentious issues, not now, not ever. That's not what I come here for.

Anyway, I still think "off-topics" among the members here could be value added; but it sounds like many others have been down the road only to find the risks greater than the gains. Now if this were a democracy [which of course it isn't], I'm a risk taker and would vote aye, but sounds like the nays have it for very good reasons. Either way, I'm enjoying reading the "horror" stories, and wouldn't mind reading a few good experiences too...so I hope this one doesn't dissapear (dang, I posted before Junkman, can't blame him if it does!)

Ive been on a helicopter net since the mid 90's. About 94 it started. It is an open, "anything goes" set up.. I've seen more guys leave mad than I could begin to count. I am one of those, who left for a year,.. I am reading it again, but cautiously.. Over there, the common thing to say is, if you don't like it, delete it.. What is happening is a particular thread is started, then it goes off track, but still uses the original thread heading.. Then a new thread heading.. A lot of times, things that bother me, are not picked up in the heading and you have to spend the time to find this out. Politics and religion, I've seen start fights that get out of hand to the point one veteran wants to drive to the others for a fist fight. It isn't worth allowing politics and religion to start here,. If it does, shut the board down as it will shut itself down quicker than you can think..

As far as my little island in Panama , Since I owned it , I decided I am the "Ruler and King " so there is "no discussion" of politics allowed among my loyal subjects . As long as it is ok with my wife ,that is ! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Seems to me there were some rumors a while back that linked me to some Catholic Girls School Uniforms . . . I guess the older folks missed out on that?

And just to set the record straight, I do NOT live in Suburbia, I live about 12 miles past the edge of Suburbia and even a few miles outside of a rural village (the village of Beecher, IL, population 2200). Seriously, SUBURBIA . . . that is insulting. The cows up the road are going to produce skim milk just for that comment. I think the moderators really need to shut down this thread for that type of comment!
