Septic system design question

Never heard about syphon systems... are they difficult to get approval for in WA State?

I see a lot of systems going in that require pumps, timers and oversight.

A little sidetracked, but what happens to a system that stops being used, i.e. vacated for a long time?

My current home of 4 years has a septic that was unused for 2 years.

I had the tank pumped when I bought the place. No solids and the guy who pumped said don't worry.

I had it pumped one more time a year after I moved in. Everything the same.

I have not had it pumped in 2+ years. All is well.

Some installs have dual drainfields with a valve that allows the user to alternate the field. This allows the field a chance to rest and supposedly revitalizes it. Point being that rest is good for a system.

I have seen one syphon system installed in WA and read about them. Indeed cool. You still need a second tank which is the "clean" or treated water tank. The batch flow is superior to the slow oozing of effluent to the drainfield.
