serial number crossover

howdy folks,
just joined TBN and looking for some info. Is there a web that gives the year the unit was manufactored if the serial number and model/brand is known. Looking at 25-35+ HP 4wd tractors with a bucket and would be nice to know what year the tractor was made. Seems like the banks/insurance agents always need that info.
I know a dealer can find that info for me but at 3 bucks a gallon running around finding a dealer that will help gets expensive. Thanks.........JIM

Hit tractordata.com.. plug in your make and model.. and it usually lists a year range.

that should narrow it down some.

TractorData.com has some of that info. But serial number info is sometimes missing for a particular tractor model.

The best single source I know if is the Official Tractor Blue Book ($16 at Amazon.com). It has info on about 50 brands of tractor for models dating from 1939 to last year.
