I bought local for a good price and I felt it was important to support the local dealer. I also thought it likely that I would get better service from him if I needed warranty work.
However, other than the 50 hour fluid and filters, and annual oil change/filter, I haven't had to visit the dealer in the 3.5 years I've owned my tractor. Odds are, you won't have to worry about the warranty either.
So with three dealers close by, and the potential to save over $2k, I think I'd buy from out of state. I'd check out the dealer first, though. See if any TBN folks have bought from them and how their experience was.
