Service Manuals-you\'re right!!

Greetings...

Received my service manual from Len today-it is exactly what many of you said it would be-the best put-together service manual I've seen. Pictures, diagrams, all clearly laid out. I highly recommend it!

My only question-how do I figure out what version it is? I can't find a year on it anywhere....

Thank you!

Re: Service Manuals-you\'re right!!

Len, if you read this can you help me find the closest service manuals for my FF205D. I have no idea what would be close to it, accept that Ernie said it was very semilar to his F 195. I can send any helpful info about the 205D.
thanks, Brett W

(sorry for the personal mail here)

Re: Service Manuals-you\'re right!!

I have to agree, I have the service manual for the 276.(I have a 2310). It's over 600 pages and has alot of info. I used it to do a headgasket replacement and the 600 hour service. I also got the 276 operators manual and between the two books I have almost all my questions answered.

Re: Service Manuals-you\'re right!!

What could cause a Yanmar with only 600 hrs to need a head gasket? It is hard to believe with all the glowing praise about them.

Re: Service Manuals-you\'re right!!

I think it may be due to the fact that a lot of these tractors sit unused for a long time before being imported. This leads to problems with various gaskets and seals. From years of experience, I can assure you that these problems are not brand specific. Also, with any used piece of equipment, there is usually no way of knowing if any previous repairs were done correctly. As for the Yanmar needing a head gasket at 600 hrs, thats kind of unusual, but not unheard of, considering the age of the tractor.

Re: Service Manuals-you\'re right!!

The block had a crack like you get if the coolant had been allowed to freeze. It had already been welded. I got a grand off the price, and have 150.00 in repair parts plus alot of good time in the engine repairs. Tractor is running great now. Took a chance and had to put a headgasket.

Good on you for taking the chance on the head gasket! I hate to tell you this because I know what you must have paid for the service manual.....but the parts manual is just as good..

Re: Service Manuals-you\'re right!!

I got the service manual for 20.00. It is on a CD I found on Ebay. The CD has teh 276 service manual, 135-155 service manual and 2210 parts manual. My little brother has a 1300 so I ordered a CD and printed out the two manuals. Now we both have the proper english language equivalant repair manuals for our tractors. The CD is available at [http://www.classicmanuals.net]
