Did the service and parts manual come with your newly purchased Kubota? I bought my Kubota used and I only got the operators manual. I recently learned that the service and parts manuals exist. I went on a few web sites and I can't believe the difference in prices. One dealer wanted $168. for a service manual and the other wants $76 they are both Kubota manuals and not aftermarket. Anyone know a good cheap place to get these manuals, are they worth having, and any thoughts on the after market manuals?

Thanks in advance

The Service and Parts manuals are two very different critters. The parts manuals (which in my opinion are more value than the service manuals) are free if you can get them. It used to be as easy as clicking onto the kubota4you site and downloading the book you needed.

But lately this site has 'shut the gate' and isnt reponding. If you ask here on TBN you may find someone who has already got the book you need and will email it to you. They are usually only a few meg so they are easy to email.

Another option may be to go to tractorsmart and ask them to send you the free parts catalogue for your tractor. TractorSmart home page I believe they do (or did) provide parts catalogues free but I've never actually got one from them myself.

The parts catalogues have an exploded drawing of every single assembly on the tractor. They are invaluable.

I would assume that prices may have changed a little bit, but in 1999, I once ordered 5 Kubota B2710 filters (3 oil, 1 air, and 1 hydraulic) from Carver Equipment for $70.40. I later ordered the 5 filters and the Workshop Manual and the Illustrated Parts List for a total of $217.00. In other words, it was around $138 to $140 for the two manuals. Expensive? Yes, but to me they were worth it.

Well...My service manual was $7?.?? and the parts books ws $3?.??. And different manuals ( model tractors) costs more than mine did.

PArts I downloaded for free from tractorsmart.com. Manual I ordered, under $100 if I recall, seventy something sounds right. It's sort of a copy/print. Kubota does not shelf the manual, print as you order. Except for the copied B/W pictures it is a nice manual. My manual also had the complete owners/service manual in it as well. So don't order both...at least on my L.

Good Luck,
Rob

I never said it was printed. I was just talking about electronic copies. (PDF's).

I just pick up the Workshop Manaul and the Illustrated Parts List for my L4330. Each manual is 1.5" thick. The parts manual has a binding but the workshop manual is 3 hole punched and shrunk wrapped. I need to find a big ole binder to put it in. I paid $92 for the workshop manual and $74.50 for the parts manual. It was quite late so they did not charge me shipping. I bought it from my local dealer where I bought the tractor.
