The county I live in has been very slow to make appointments for the Covid vaccine. I actually live closer to a smaller county so I went there to sign up. My sister lives across the state line and she also signed up in the same county I went to. We signed up on a Monday, got called back on Thursday, and had an appointment for the following Wednesday. Arm hurts a little but no other side effects so far.

My point is the vaccine is a federal program so you may not have to wait if your county is dragging it's heels or too busy due to population. If you want to get it look at nearby counties where they may not be as busy.

We have been going to the smaller county for several years now to buy our tags. For that you obviously have to be in your own state but it can sure save a lot of time and hassle. My county won't let you in the door without an appointment. Went to the closer county and waited in an outside line for about 5 minutes. Got in and went straight to the window. Bought all our tags, got a title transferred, and wife got a duplicate drivers license because she didn't like her picture on the old one. Was out in 15 minutes.

Unfortunately I am stuck using my county for property tax. I did that by online bank transfer for the first time. Couldn't get through on the phone for an appointment and ain't no way I'm going to put that much money in a drop box and get no receipt.

When you say "tags" do you mean vehicle registration? Never heard them called that before. In my state you need to go to town/city hall and do the paperwork, most towns will handle the state portion for a small fee, or you can go to the DMV. Some things (antique vehicle plates for example) require a DMV visit since most towns don't stock them (though many have "standard" plates.
Driver's licenses are strictly thru the DMV.

Property taxes again are thru the city/town. While there is a portion of it that goes to the county it's all paid to and handled by the town you live in.

Maine DMV tell me dey got few thousand nonresident trailers plated in Hawaii. I know lot of trailers in NY wearin Maine plates. Recreational vehicles too and commercial cargo trailers.

Maine got good attitude, dey love issuing plates for vehicles not wear out Maine roads. One state gets too money hungry another state solve de problem and make money.
Full Faith & Credit Clause.

Ha - our county/local medical clinic has NO IDEA when they might receive additional CV-19 vaccine. All those in the 1A group have received their first shots. Those in the 1B group - who knows ...............

I go to the county clerks office in the adjoining county to update my annual vehicle tags. No appointment, little to no waiting.

Emperor of NY has it all under control.

Got groups, got waiting lists, got vaccine even got needles.

Problem is none de numbers match.
Today got more vaccine den arms to shoot into, might run out of vaccine juice before all gets in arms thou. No idea when more vaccine comin. Might run out of needles too. Hiring retired Nurses to stab people, but got no money to pay dem so Emperor can tax dem on pay dey didn't get.

Gotta be some special school dese peoples go to where dey learn to administer like dis.

Emperor even named a bridge after his daddy.

He gonna ALLOW 6700 people to sit in empty concrete bowl in Buffalo and watch football game. Dey want beer or hotdog gotta buy before 10pm cause WuFlu jumps on food at 10:01.

I'm a bit surprised states haven't cracked down on this practice, most are pretty strict about residents registering vehicles in other states to escape high fees, inspection requirements, etc. Is it just that trailers just aren't a priority?

Don't understand the theory behind curfews, etc. and covid. I sort of get restrictions on bars, etc. in that the later the hour and the more inebriated the patrons precautions might go to the wind, but restaurants?

Being in a room with someone who is shedding covid viruses is the primary way of catching it. Depending on how the air is circulating the viruses can travel quite a ways farther than 6 feet.

Here's a study of transmission in a restaurant: COVID-19 Outbreak Associated with Air Conditioning in Restaurant, Guangzhou, China, 2;) - Volume 26, Number 7—July 2;) - Emerging Infectious Diseases journal - CDC

Transmission from surfaces does happen but not nearly as much.

The post I was replying to questioned the curfews imposed on restaurants. That virus isn't going to spread any faster at 9pm than it will at noon.

Our Docs have had both doses now and this week it was open to support hospital staff...

Required to not be scheduled for work the day after and possibly the day after that.

Got mine this morning so only had to confirm not scheduled to come in Saturday... I switched my Saturday shift to Sunday.

The main hospital was super organized with stations and lots of distancing in the large conference room and 100% outside air... all done by appointment at 5 min intervals per each of the 4 stations... so about 50 per hour for 12 hours or 600 per day.

This is my first vaccine in more than a quarter century...

Only 6 hours post vaccine so far but it does feel like someone punched me in the arm and some face swelling and redness noticed this afternoon by others... the day after is typically when whatever is to happen kicks in thus the being off the day after.

The second dose 4 weeks later is reported to have more reactions in those so inclined...

Mom actually wants the vaccine... she was 45 years an RN... so far nothing available for 86 year olds outside of nursing homes... qualified yes but not available... I don't want to take her to one of the mass sports stadium gatherings...

I asked if she could go in my place but not an option since employer sponsored...

If everything goes to plan... in 6 weeks from now I should have my max immunity... for how long is unknown.

Covid has reshaped my job greatly... lots of public interaction now has we have strict screening and entry restrictions... they say that I am effective with the public in a non confrontational or alienating way and admin has received positive patient feedback...

I'm scheduled for my CV-19 shot tomorrow. I'm in the 1B group. Guess that means all the 1A's must have got their first shots.
