Our Docs have had both doses now and this week it was open to support hospital staff...

Required to not be scheduled for work the day after and possibly the day after that.

Got mine this morning so only had to confirm not scheduled to come in Saturday... I switched my Saturday shift to Sunday.

The main hospital was super organized with stations and lots of distancing in the large conference room and 100% outside air... all done by appointment at 5 min intervals per each of the 4 stations... so about 50 per hour for 12 hours or 600 per day.

This is my first vaccine in more than a quarter century...

Only 6 hours post vaccine so far but it does feel like someone punched me in the arm and some face swelling and redness noticed this afternoon by others... the day after is typically when whatever is to happen kicks in thus the being off the day after.

The second dose 4 weeks later is reported to have more reactions in those so inclined...

Mom actually wants the vaccine... she was 45 years an RN... so far nothing available for 86 year olds outside of nursing homes... qualified yes but not available... I don't want to take her to one of the mass sports stadium gatherings...

I asked if she could go in my place but not an option since employer sponsored...

If everything goes to plan... in 6 weeks from now I should have my max immunity... for how long is unknown.

Covid has reshaped my job greatly... lots of public interaction now has we have strict screening and entry restrictions... they say that I am effective with the public in a non confrontational or alienating way and admin has received positive patient feedback...

Very interesting. I’m getting the shot next Tuesday. Was told I had to wait 15 minutes after the shot because if there was a negative reaction it would occur within 15 minutes.

Standard minimum is 15 in vacinity... 30 if previous adverse reaction to vaccine...

Since I have had adverse in past was asked to do 30 which is fine.

A couple of side notes...

As I rolled up my sleeve Sinatra My Way started to play with the words "And now the end is near And so I face the final curtain"

I said Really? and then requested anything Dean Martin... got my first laugh from the room

After my 30 minutes the nurse asked how I was feeling and said my best Vaccine in 25 years and she said wait a minute... your medical record says you have not had a vaccine in 25 years and I just nodded... got my second laugh going out the door.

It is going to take a while to get those that want the series vaccinated but we will get there. Texas is the first state to reach 1 million vaccinations. The Texas Department of State Health Services has a locator map showing the locations that have received vaccines and how many are available for those looking to be vaccinated. The 4 local Brookshire's Grocery pharmacies and most of the primary care providers in our county have received doses. Our county has been designated to host a community vaccination clinic for 1000 doses. My wife and I have received both shots with the Phizer vaccine, no side effects except for a sore arm.

Had a headache through the night... took advil this morning and much better since I did have to go in to work for one hour today...

The big problem I see is they have opened up to more tiers without the ability to deliver...

People wait in hope only to be turned away... several PSA have said to call your medical provider but small Docs and Groups have nothing to offer...

Frustration for sure at the roll out.

we signed up in a small town in the next county.. they have a reputation of getting things done in a timely manner. we get our tags there as well as shopping and medical.

Emperor of NY has it all under control.

Got groups, got waiting lists, got vaccine even got needles.

Problem is none de numbers match.
Today got more vaccine den arms to shoot into, might run out of vaccine juice before all gets in arms thou. No idea when more vaccine comin. Might run out of needles too. Hiring retired Nurses to stab people, but got no money to pay dem so Emperor can tax dem on pay dey didn't get.

Gotta be some special school dese peoples go to where dey learn to administer like dis.

Emperor even named a bridge after his daddy.

He gonna ALLOW 6700 people to sit in empty concrete bowl in Buffalo and watch football game. Dey want beer or hotdog gotta buy before 10pm cause WuFlu jumps on food at 10:01.

I hope no one is surprised by the vaccine rollout. In the world of government employment they are shooting about even par, maybe 1 under. I hear the wealthy people figured out a work around.

This time their incompetence is costing lives, I guess that's nothing new.

Actually a virus from a foreign country is costing lives with governments around the world trying to manage through the mess it created.

We supposed to ignore dat delivery boy from drugstore called Fauchi sent 3.5 million US taxpayer Dollars to dat Lab in China to endrun US laws? Hard to have root cause widout someting got planted.

So - I got my shot Sat. About 30-40 waiting, in line, ahead of me. Couldn't even feel the shot. And the DR - oh, my - the cutest brunette you would ever hope to see. I could have stayed there all morning - talking to her.

Anyhow - no reactions, what-so-ever to the shot. I'm due back for the second shot in a month - on Sat. Maybe that cute DR will be there again.
