I've got a dumb question on setting up the BX25 BH for digging. When setting the FEL do you use the blade tip to raise the front of the tractor up? When I 1st got the machine I was told to basicly dump the bucket and set the blade tip into the ground and raise it so that the front tires are just off the ground. I've noticed on several videos that that sat the bucket level on the ground to lift the front. I've been setting the blade to raise the front, then setting the stabilizers on the back. Hope this is OK, no damage to the bucket???? Help

Well, the simple answer is, I don't have a simple answer.

Depending on conditions of soil and terrain, I can say it varies. If I am going to be digging in one spot for a while (which with a BX24, I usually am digging for a while), I tend to dig the edge in just enough to provide a more solid anchor point. I typically just add enough pressure to keep the tires touching but with most of the weight off of the tires. With the bucket tip in the ground it will help some with dragging the tractor around when using the BH. While the BH is slow, it is powerful, so with hard ground this can help.

If the ground is soft and I am going to be doing a lot of moving, I just set the bucket on the ground flat and don't worry about trying to use it as an anchor point.

The more you use it, the more you will figure out what works good for you.

I never use it to try to level out the tractor if on a hill, and I never dig pointing down the hill with the BH.

Right or wrong , I can only tell you what I did. Working on a very steep hill diggin out some pretty sizable stumps , I dug the blade tip in , on more level ground I just raised the front wheels with the bucket level.
Seemed to work well for me.
