From the second picture it looks like there are two levels, so this could carry five cars two on the bottom and three on the top, and he had three all loaded on the top level. That would seem to be pretty top heavy for a pickup truck to pull if all three were loaded on top and the lower tracks were empty. 5 x 3500 lb cars is about +/-18,000 plus the triple axle trailer, so it is a big load but within the range for a newer 350/450 class pickup. From the first picture you can see the truck was a dualie.

You would have gotten a better view than the pictures show I would guess. Was it actually a double decker? I have never actually seen a 5 car trailer for a pickup, I am just looking at the picture and there seems to be a lower deck.

EDIT**** - Oops, I didn't read far enough. A bunch of others already commented on this.

Yeah actually I did not notice that in person, my wife drove by pretty fast. But when later looking at the last pic, I thought there indeed was a lower level. All the cars were obviously on the top but maybe he didn't hydraulically raise the top part up (as would be needed to clear a bottom row of cars).

Someone also makes a small 6 car, but I haven't seen one in a long time.

216 KAUFMAN TRAILER Mini 5

Its not uncommon to load the top deck first so your ready for the next pickup, or having the top deck loaded because you've already dropped off the lower level of cars.

I'm thinking the road conditions contributed more to this then how it was loaded.

With no ground clearance, I wouldn't consider that JCB a tractor anymore. Some kind of ODD abortion, but NOT a tractor.

Saw this leaning semi cab on a utility trailer today on I-25 South in New Mexico. IMG_3239.JPG

Like whats on the trailer
Thanks.
It's a project, after the basement is finished. I have it titled in my name...it was my great uncles, and his family gave it to me. I got to keep the original title from 1949. It runs, but it's been probably 8 years. 1948 Dodge Powerwagon, FWIW.

There has to be a video of that kind of thing going wrong, which I would watch.
