Kind of harsh? Quite a few people died in this crash.

Not really. Scores of people die daily on highways, most due to their own stupidity. I spent 28 years driving over the road and I've seen it all more than once. I remember one time in Atlanta, snowed and rained a tad and it was dodgem. Finally shut down the road after it became a junkyard.

Today, most folks don't take driving seriously when in fact it can kill you or others and most times it's 100% stupidity. Not harsh at all. Just the facts.

Friend was working in DFW for a while, one icy morning he comes up to an intersection with a police officer spreading salt from a bucket in his trunk.
"Maybe you should spread a little on the approaches too, so people can slow down or stop before they actually get IN the intersection?"
"Get out of here yank, I'm doing this my way."

Pretty obvious to me, the circumstances are painfully clear..... Driving too fast for conditions. Newton's law applies.. 'A body in motion tends to stay in motion' until arrested by a sudden stop..... Or should I say 'sodden stop'....

Least the local bump shops will have customers, that and the local metal recyclers.

Always love people who can look at a picture and instantly know everything about it. I just love them from a distance because the truth is that although God says to love them it is very hard to love some.

Pretty easy to see the cause (black ice) and the effect (everything wadded up) I've seen more than my share of wadded up ones. Last 4 years before I retired I was in Safety and Compliance for the company I drove for. Did a lot of accident investigation and liability mitigation.

Always good to armchair quarterback. You seem to be quite a professional at that.
