Unbelievable !!

When I was in college o had a friend drive a S10 3 blocks that way with a failed front drivers spindle. Had his buddy ride on the hood and steer the jack.

I drove a tractor a mile that way also after breaking the front axle off.

Got to give credit for ingenuity! But there must be a pucker factor too.

I have moved a car that way, but it was to move it back 20 feet to where the rollback could pick it up to scrap it...

Neat looking pickup. Wouldn't mind owning one or making a street rod out of it.

Can you imagine the value of that set-up? Never seen one before. VW collectors would give the price of a house for that. Can't imagine taking a valuable set-up like that and making it into anything else. However, a copy of it into a street rod would be way cool.

I was on I95 in Kitery Maine a couple of years ago following a big old camper trailer in heavy traffic doing about 40mph. He hit a bump in the road and sparks flew from behind the unit. When i got a chance to pass him i took it. It was about 35ft long 1980s camper coupled to a crown vic!!!!! The hitch was about 2" off the road. An Old bearded man driving and smiling looked happy as could be. HAHA i had a good laugh.

I didn't get a picture, but the other day I saw someone pulling a 30+ foot wing disk (like: http://www.tractorhouse.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=7875285 ) behind a 3/4 ton Chevy or GMC SRW pickup. The current version of that disk weighs 12k-14k pounds, no brakes and the back of the truck was way low.
Talk about the tail wagging the dog...

That may be unique in Maine or another state with limited agriculture but in the flat ground of the Midwest it is common to see 25ft wide equipment going down a 24 ft road all the time. Also common to see a Deere 9000 series tractor with duals and wide equipment going down a state road ..and driven by a really young kid. Maybe age 12 or not much more.

I used to be sort of concerned when I first moved here but everyone knows to steer clear and give a wide berth. Someone flipped a combine in a stream a couple years ago but other than that I can't recall an accident.

And the equipment keeps getting wider and taller.

The problem wasn't so much the disk, I see those all the time but that it was towed at 30-40MPH down the road behind a 3/4 ton pickup.
