How can they be listed as having three trucks when they only have one tractor and two trailers for one driver? What kind of pot fueled Colorado government math is that?

:D We still braze with wire coat hangers on some things. Just for practice.

speaking of wire coat hangers. I remember jump/boosting a car back in the day with but a single wire coat hanger, and some time.

bumper to bumper ( yeah.. cars had real metal bumpers back then ). then a wire coat hanger opened up enough to get from hot to hot, then run one car to charge the other up a bit. after 10 minutes, the other guy keyed it over and it struggled for a second then started. a line of smoke came off the coat hanger as the varnish on it vaporized instantly. ;)

them were the days... :)

I worked in a garage when I was a kid in the 60's and got into many a locked car (legally) with a wire coat hanger. Ten seconds tops. On top of that, the owner of the place brazed with coat hangers all the time. I don't recall anything he brazed ever coming apart.

This thread is getting a little off track, but are you guys talking about brazing or gas welding? We used to use coat hangers as filler rod for quick and dirty gas welding, but when we "brazed" we had to use a brazing rod because we kept the heat below the melting point of the steel (usually sheet metal).

Gas welding and while all threads get off track, they eventually get back on track.

I'm thinking they are meaning gas welding using a ferrous rod ( coat hanger ).

and not a yellow metal alloy rod or a silver bearing solder ( various forms of brazing )

Yes, gas welding with coat hangers. Mainly I gas weld exhaust systems with hangers.

A few days ago I was out grading my lane and saw an early 2000 F150 Extended cab, 4x4 coming down the road towards me and something just didn't seem right. It was pulling a single axle trailer with a 1/2 ton GM truck loaded backwards on it. Best guess is the trailer had a 3500# axle and definitely had negative tongue weight. By the time the WTF had registered and I'd untangled my dropped jaw from the steering wheel, I thought I of this thread but it was too late to snap a pic.

What still has me scratching my head about it is there was s a junkyard a few miles north of me and questionable loads aren't uncommon as people haul their junk in. This guy was coming from that way rather than heading there.

How the heck did you hold it on the battery terminals? Seems like it would be near glowing if it didn't fire up right away.
