I agree, but they had the standard 4door s10 blazer and then rolled out the "special" zr2 as well.

They also sold a standard 2-door version that wasn't a special, off-road setup. My father had the GMC version...plain-jane blazer/Jimmy with only 2-doors. They didn't sell very well, and his had a manual transmission, which was even less common.

That's quite the post strength to have stopped a running dumptruck and it doesn't look like it moved.

I would have to say the truck was going relatively slow, though, imo when it hit the sign. For one thing, it looks like he's in the emergency lane, and the other, had the dump bed hit the sign at highway speed (say 55mph) I think the something would have had to give and the truck would have traveled further before stopping. The top of the bed is just barely caught on the bottom of the sign.

And they must have been quick with the camera as it looks like you can see the drivers arm. so he is glued to the seat it seems..

Fire Department ladder rescue?

Agree but that requires outside intervention. My point was just that it's not like the guy could just hop out of his cab and stand by the side of the road waiting for a tow truck.

I'd love to see how the fire dept and wrecker crews managed to get the truck down from it's perch. Seems like any movement could bring the whole thing down with a crash. I'd guess they got a mobile crane to stabilize it and lower it.
