I wanted to comment earlier on that subject, but didn't want to derail the thread. Since we're here now...

The trailer is hauling a commonly used material in the production of pallets. That might explain the strange nature of this photograph.

Now that would take some serious butt muscles to pinch down on that trailer enough to pull it.

His tires would start slipping before the trailer would move. He needs wheel weights and loaded tires to get enough traction. And few pallets hooked up to his handlebars would definitely helped too.

R1 definitely and he should have V chain on the rear tire too or Beyond studded tires; the ultimate snow bike and bike tire chains - BikePortland.org
1.) Chain would add some weight.
2.) Chain would increase the traction in snow and ice.
3.) He should get good dose of anabolic steroids.

Yep. Loaded tires and a Mahindra bicycle will give him lots of cast iron weight. In this case 2WD will suffice. No need to spend the money on a 4WD bicycle if you can even find one.

I know this is a picture thread but since I'm photographically challenged...

Was on the freeway with all the trucks and morning traffic and noticed the right two lanes were very slow and traffic was moving left.

The reason was an old pickup with 3 guys in the front seat towing a splitter at about 35 mph... it looked new but very small and narrow with very tiny tires.

Just when I'm thinking this may not end well a CHP cruiser passes in the fast lane... sees the splitter puts on lights and drops back...

I have no idea what the guy is looking at... 35 on a freeway, no lights, no plate... etc.?

Wonder if you are allowed to drive it to the nearest off ramp or have to leave it on the side of the road and get a trailer or pickup with ramps?

He probably wanted to get them off the freeway. Driving at 35 is impeding the flow of traffic. Chipper should not need a plate, just a SMV sign.
