Although I don't recall seeing any switch or sensor on any box on any dump truck I've driven. I think mechanics and owners would see it as just something else that would need fixing, or that would go bad at the wrong time.

A tee in the line to lift the dump cylinder with a pressure switch would take care of that without needing anything that would need to be adjusted or have dirt cleaned off of it.

Both of my 1 Ton trucks that have PTOs can't go very fast with the PTO in. They bind up the transmission and won't shift over 2nd and make a squealing noise. I kinda doubt that's designed and just coincidence. How many of you recommending these switches have ever driven a dump truck? If you haven't noticed that the bed is up I'm sure you'll notice a little light that's blinking. Any buzzer that's loud enough to do any good is going to be annoying and get disabled.

Stick a rotating emergency light on top of the dash over toward the passenger side. It would be hard to ignore.

Haha every time I did a monthly pm on a dump truck (or crew truck) I would fix the reverse beeper. The next month when they came back for a pm, someone smashed it with a shovel again .......

Yeah, that would last as long as it took to disconnect it. Dark gray northwest days or late evening work would make something like that more a hindrance than any kind of help.
People make mistakes, I know I made a few over the years including failing to drop a truck or trailer box when I should have. Never left the job site that way, but I have gotten out of the truck to clean my reach and had to climb back in to drop the trailer box. I have seen a few major screwups by others, mostly pup trailers laying on their sides, and a couple of trucks tipped over. Mostly it was smaller mistakes, delivering the wrong product, tailgates popping open, and forgetting to set chains when doing a double spread, and so on. The point being everybody makes the occasional mistake. Usually the worst that comes from it is a bruised ego, but occasionally circumstances come together and result in something catastrophic.
