Didn't get a pic but the other day I was on a freeway in West Virginia and noticed a flatbed carrying concrete culverts about 24" diameter and 8' long crossways. They had straps through the first two and the last two of the bottom layer all pulling to the center of the truck to keep the culverts together. There were probably a 12-14 culverts in the bottom layere and probably 10 on the second layer. They had two straps going over the top of the second layer the length of the trailer. So there were approximately 24 culverts with six straps total - is this adequate? the load looked like it was riding nice at 70 mph but I wasn't sure what was proper so I thought I would ask.

 This is why I always back my skidsteer onto the trailer to put the weight where it needs to be. Skidsteers weight more in the rear than the front so to drive it on forward is asking for trouble. Plus the cab catches anything that is flying around the road. I'm actually surprised at how many people drive the skidsteers onto a trailer forward. I'd rather back blindly onto the trailer than off of the trailer, too.

I can’t see the trailer at all backing on. I can keep the bucket lined up with the sides of the trailer going off. As short as a SS is you must have a really short trailer if you can’t get good weight distribution either way.

The authorities (watching our rigs) should leave us the helll alone and quit this form of taxation, but if someone hurts someone by negligence, the fines should be sky high and possible jail time. They don't seem to bother those home inspectors with a ladder bunjied to their roof!

I don't think fines and jail ever cross the minds of the most dangerous types. Especially tweakers etc. So declaring penalties has no effect at all.

Just me, but I prefer that some of my tax dollars are used to pull over the blatant ones. 'Taxes are what we pay to live in a civilized society', to mangle a quote.

Probably, the "Free" string broke!

Like everyone is required to submit to that tax grab called an E-Test, but the cops won't pull over some vehicle just belching smoke.

And over 99% pass the mandatory money grab, which says not really required...
