My college roommate and I were moving. So we packed everything possible onto the back of his father's plumbing truck. Oops-- he forgot to put on his mom's antique rocker as he had put it aside for safekeeping during the loading.
Scott climbed on top of the load, found a good "hole" to put the rocker in, and I handed it up to him. After he put it on top of the load I said "it's never going to stay on there while we are driving." He said: "yes it will."
At 45 mph down a 4 lane road, at night, we heard a noise. I looked in the passenger rear view mirror and saw the rocker, sitting upright, in the traffic lane. No traffic coming as it was all being held at a stoplight some distance away. Ahhhh! We must go back and get it.
Scott made a lumbering U-turn in the loaded plumbing truck. The light had changed and traffic was again flowing. That's when we saw one of the headlights of an oncoming car go out. Ooops.
I bet it was fun explaining that to the insurance company.
