Ahh, I see why you posted this on a "Towing Something Wrong" thread. There's no safety chains or even a wiring harness between the trailer and truck.
I think far more.trailer weighing 2000# or more ...
It wasn't until I got its tires on the graveled lane that I could simply tow the thing.Bozo delivered a 300 lb tank to me using a 14k equipment trailer. His trailer was so long he couldn't turn it around without sinking his truck in the mud, and he couldn't find any traction to back it uphill from where he got himself into. So I lifted his trailer with the ball on my loader bucket and backed it into the orchard. Then I discovered the trailer was so heavy I couldn't pull it uphill. Not so much traction as sheer weight. Even after turning the tractor around and getting ALL the weight on the drive wheels I couldn't move the stupid thing. The backhoe curl was the only force I could think of that would move this monster uphill with its tires sunk in mud.
Good point. If it was a PJ 14k deck over with a dovetail (ie: PJ Trailers - 8" I-Beam Deckover (F8) ), the weight would be 3200-3600# for the trailerI think far more.
Not as dramatic as most of this thread, but ... (from an old post, with additional pictures) this guy had no sense at all regarding towing.

Seems like a very odd picture to have on the main "2015 F150" page given how much obvious editing was done to it...Looking at that Ford photo - they edited out everything forward of the trailer bed except the torsion leveling bars. The front of that trailer should look like my photo above.
I wonder how well that rig stops. ...How could have the bottom option been cheaper than a tow truck.
The tie-downs look used.
