Looking closely it appears there are two dogs in the one large crate. Makes me wonder if a cat is riding in the small pet carrier up top...

No pics, sorry.

At about 5:30 this afternoon I was head south on I-81 in SW VA. As we came around a slight bend I see brake lights and all the truck drivers have their hazard lights on. Two vehicles pulled over with a third pulled over about 300 yards farther. Traffic slowed to about 45mph but never stopped.

As we get closer I see the problem, there are wrapped Christmas trees all over either side of the road and a couple of people loading them into a pick up. When we get up to the third vehicle it turns out to be a pick up pulling a bumper pull trailer with half a load of wrapped Christmas trees!

I don't know what happened but there were at least two ratchet straps that had been holding the back half of the load dragging the ground behind the trailer.

Trailers should have 2/3 of the load ahead of the trailer axle, they say. You have all of it ahead.

OK no pics, but boy do I wish I could have. I was running a little behind this morning on my way to a Dr. appt. I had to stop at the post office, which normally, in our small town, takes about 30 seconds. There was nowhere to park and took almost 15 min before I got out of there, so I was rushed.

Just as I am approaching the freeway on ramp from hwy 58 to the 101, I see a tractor and about a 40ft duck tailed flatbed, then I see he has three HUGE boulders on the flat bed. One of them is easily as long at my GMC 2500 and about 5ft tall in the center. The other two are about half that size.

I also see he has a CHP walking around his trailer, and then I notice why. Mind you this was as I was slowing from 55 to about 40 for the on-ramp. The largest bolder is BEHIND the trailer axles, with a smaller one in the front and the larger one is sitting partly on top of another smaller one, that is touching the duck tail. Then I notice the front of the trailer is considerably higher than the rear, AND, are you ready for this? I didn't see a single tie down strap on ANY of the boulders.

The weight on that trailer was WAY too far back, and I bet if he unhooked that king pin, the duck tail would drop to the ground.

I would have loved to pulled over and watch that develop. All I can say is thank the Good Lord, the CHP had him pulled over. I had my phone on me but no time to stop.
