Not too smart.

Yeah, don't know why someone would spend all the money for a 1 ton truck and get the short 6' bed instead of an 8' long bed?

For hauling trailers not 15000 lbs in the box.

I saw this guy today. He wasn't hauling anything wrong, but I thought it was funny. He had a 1 ton truck with a wood dump bed, and his window guard was a dish drainer held in place by a bungee cord. image-55050095.jpg

The truck did have the 8 foot bed. The lumber had to be at least 22 feet long.

Not too smart.

At least if that was hit from the side (not saying he should have rolled out like that), even a small car probably would have broken that lumber, or had it ride over top.

I was out for a ride on my motorcycle last evening, taking a rural ridge road that goes through some great rolling countryside past a couple of towns west of here.

There is one intersection that has a 2 way stop, for the north/south road. Visibility is good, as it is where 2 rolling hills meet. Last year, I had to slow down quickly on the right-of-way east/west road, for a "gentleman" in an E450 blowing through the stop sign at about 20mph.

He had about 15' of a two and a half foot diameter log sticking out the back of the rolled up van door. Even in a pickup truck, hitting that from the side at 50mph would really mess up your day.

Every time I ride along that ridge line, I use that memory to remind myself that you can't be too paranoid out there, regardless of what you are driving.....

Plenty of the these posted pics would have our green-bears in Ontario writing so many tickets that they'd take a month off and need physio to deal with the writer's cramp !

Rgds, D.

Sad isn't it? You don't have to travel to far or look too hard to find something to post on this thread. At a big box store to pick up supplies.

And there's something about the weld there that bothers me just about more than anything.
