Picture really doesn't for it justice.

Rear straps were loose and flopping. Front end was tied to the front rail on the trailer.

Straps appear to be those 500lb rated straps from harbor freight.

Watch some you tube videos of dudes in India putting up scaffold. Makes my butt pucker. They are 50 stories up walking on 2 pieces of pipe laid on top while sling up more pieces. Couldn't pay much either.....

Dear Lord! I do crazy stuff all the time, but I have vertigo...I could only watch a few seconds. Dad passed away a few years ago he was 88, but fell only about 7 ft., broke his back in his 70s, never recovered.
I bought a safety harness a few years ago, it wasn't that expensive.

The absurd size of these campers just makes me shake my head. Why not just stay home and save the bother?

As far as the scaffolding. A relaxed, casually dressed worker is a safe worker. I saw them building yet another high speed rail line in China using 500 meter continuous rails! Tennis shoes and ball caps! LOVE IT!

How long was that camper? A Ram 1500 can have a towing capacity around 10,500 or so, so some 5th wheels are possible. Not really optimum, but within safety margins. The Rams have coil springs in back so they sag quite a bit even with a load within their specs.

It was nearing 40 feet. Definitely too much camper for the truck.

Not too much camper, period? For a place to lie your head, grab a bite to eat and have a hot shower?

It seems if you have too much tractor, or other tool, well that's just foolish, a waste of money, but in the RV world, nothing is too stupid and no one says a thing!

I marvel at RV size too. I don't have that kind of money to burn, or want a 30 year note on a camper.
