Towing things wrong morphed into smelling up vehicles?

Seems like a big side step.

My SIL used my mom's Lexus while they were on vacation. Left sunroof open. Bailing and shop vac got the couple inches of water out. few trips to the shop never fully got the musty/moldy smell out of the car. She finally traded it in.

You have to remove the carpet and insulation and dry it to stop the smell. My locale dealer used the paint booth for such.

Actually it's Hauling or Towing Something Wrong. I'd say those qualified as Hauling Something Wrong. :laughing:

**** gubbermint has not fixed that stench in my car that was caused by lack of laws protecting me from carrying smelly stuff in my vehicle.

Gotta hate the hands off uncaring govts !

I go to a lot of farm auctions, and as such I see a LOT of things being towed in ways that really should not happen... my worst was a 12k pound Ford 8600 on a 2500lb trailer with two 6000lb axles, but towed responsibly by chaining it down properly and reducing the speed, plus only 30 miles to destination. Yesterday at the auction there was a one ton truck with a gooseneck trailer hauling a John Deere 4440 with a smallish Case skid steer behind that... I don't remember if it was 3 axles but that's 25k pounds of equipment I imagine

I do end up towing things that are extremely awkward, like the 10' wide and 9' tall A frame we bought at auction, had to haul it upright on the trailer... And the 8' tall mill I bought yesterday, turns out it is near 2000lb and very top heavy, couldn't lay it on it's side as there's levers everywhere

I once towed an A frame a bit larger than yous behind my steel deck over trailer less than a mile on local paved streets. Didn't have any way to dismantle, and no way to lift it onto my trailer if it would have fit on it. Just chained it to the back of it and went slow. A frame had good casters. Brother was moving shops and was going to leave it at the old shop, but I said, lets cahin it up and go. Jon

18” over width and under legal height and only going a mile. I really doubt he got permits.
