No they suck in snow. The front air dam is a lousy snow plow. I drove mine to work when no snow was forecast. They were wrong. I got to 5 miles from home and the road goes from a state highway to a county road. That's as far as I got. The little lady had to come get me in the truck. I went home and got the trailer and went back to get the Vette. It went up the hills better than I expected though. Between the locking Axel and traction control. And it is balanced 50 50 front to rear.

I drove an Iroq Z around the block in a snowstorm once so that the owner could clean out his driveway. I couldn't even keep it going in a straight line, those wide tires would kick out at the slightest amount of throttle.

just setting between the folded cover and the tailgate. Not a strap in sight.

How would you strap these? I would put a wood block or two high in between them and strap back to rear tie downs or just a strap around them holding them to the tailgate. Either way there would be no strap visible. Those things fall over way too easily to ever go any distance. I wouldn't drive across my yard with one not strapped.

Hard to tell, but I bet he'd have been fine if he put the straps under the top pipe rather than over. Depending on how high that wood was stacked those steaps probably didnt have any down pressure clamping the load.

Or stacked the boards in a triangular shape so that the straps pulled them down and together. he probably stacked them all nice and flat and no pressure on the middle ones.

4 straps with protectors (so they dont get cut) start at the top of the left tank with 2 straps, go through the valve guard on the right tank and down to the right side front and rear bed tie downs (or possible the lip of the bed). Take 2 more straps, go from the top of the right tank, through the valve guard of the left tank and down to the front/rear left side tiedowns.
That will hold it down and keep them from flopping over.
Option B would be to lay them down (since they aren't Acetylene tanks), leaving the cover open at least in the back for ventilation in case of a leak, then slide the tanks all the way to the front (with blocking to keep them from rolling) and strap over the tanks in an X shape as well as one through the guards to pull them to the front of the bed.

Back in the late 80’s we had a firebird that was actually pretty amazing in the snow, can’t remember exactly we she wanted to drive that car in the winter when she had a perfectly good truck but with real snow tires and a bit of extra wieght the firebird did pretty good.

Cool. They should have have Concrete Barriers in the middle with some kind of signs on them. I thought at first he was in a boat.

Do you suppose they backed up to reduce chance of injury, if it wasn't CGI, or was the video possibly ran backwards?

There were 3 very talented people in that video; the guy agile enough to balance on the mirrors, and two drivers good enough to maintain the equidistance between trucks.
