No, big stuff like that is done with a yarder. Back then, Madill made some of the big ones.

Going back a little further they built them on the spot out of the trees there.

A yarder brings the log up/down the hill but that's not what they use to load a truck, is it?

Really a yarder is something between a winch & a crane. As was mentioned, they use to just limb the biggest tree & attach the rigging & winches to that to make your yarder. You can easily lift logs off the ground with a crane/yarder if its setup right. In theory it would be easy to drive a truck under to get loaded. In practice getting things lined up & oriented correctly would be pretty tedious. I'm sure it was done, but not to commonly.

There’s far bigger excavator based equipment now.

In the past it was the yarder setup that loaded those big stacks.

Back when we had trees that size they were cut with axes or two man crosscuts and dragged down to the river with oxen, then floated to their destination... often to be used as ship masts.
