That's a pretty good answer. I do think on a tight turn the front wheels would need to shift forward (inside) and backward (outside) even with them unlocked or the rear axle of the motorhome would need to skid sideways which wont happen, but...
Yeah, you're not going to be making any tight turns with that setup. But anyone thats run a low 5th wheel hauler is used to that lol (or any early model F550, horrible turning radius!)

You actually could do it by tying it down by the front tires and leaving the steering unlocked.

Or the really sketchy way is just tie it down by the center of the front axle (or frame if its IFS) and lock the steering so it can pivot around the tie down.

Or, tie the axle down pretty tight, then pour some oil under the tires, so the tires can slide around during turns,,
Might as well get super creative!!

Who is that guy in the flat brimmed hat in the right of the pic,, talking to the guy in a white mask??

I'd say that is the Kansas highway patrol officer talking to the DOT enforcement officer about how many fines that driver is about to get............

Neither, a good highway patrol always has a thermos in his car for just these occasions!

How much does the trencher weigh? I had a decent size trencher on my 7k trailer no problem, ramps are just a piece of 2x12, although whatever wood it is might be stonger then steel! (I found the boards under leaves in my woods when I bought my house, with no rot!)View attachment 674260

Spec weight is 4200 but I doubt those suitcase weighs are included. But it should still be ok on a 7k trailer. My ramps are 2x2x1/4 angle iron for the sides.

Yeah a 7k should have been fine for that.
I had reserved a trencher without the hoe but when I went to pick it up this was all they had with the 8in wide chain that day.

This thing was almost 6k according to specs. You should have seen the look of doubt when I got my wood plank ramps with angle iron hangers out to load it!

It’s not that bad on a 7k but the springs were pretty much flat. Since I have a 14k I might as well just use it. IMG_9109.JPG

Yup, I want to get a 16k 20-22ft deckover or possibly a tilt to replace 2 of my trailers. Right now my options are a 18ft 7k or a 24ft 10ton which is really too much for my current truck.

A 10 ton GN isn’t that bad but a 10 ton bumper pull has no business behind pickups. IMG_9079.JPG
