Perhaps they could even call it... "cruise control"

Ya, that sounds pretty cool. Cruise control. I'd buy that.

The thing I hate about Cruise Control is that no matter where I set it if I am on a long highway trip there are going to be a couple other motorists who will have their CC set a mile an hour below me or a mile an hour above me.

This means eventually I am going to catch up to the one that is just lower than my speed or the one just a little faster will catch up with me and we will wind up in that quagmire of who is going to slow down or who is going to speed up the let the traffic building up behind us as we drive close to side-by-side for a mile or so.

Usually winds up that the two or three of us are going about 4-5-6 MPH above of below the speed limit and wind up travelling along together until one or two either pull off or speed up or slow down significantly to break up the pack.

There's more to it than just power. I drive an F250 diesel so I think I've got plenty of power, but on our 100' tall hills out here it does the same thing that Jstpssng describes. I think it has to do with the predictive power (or lack there of) of the software that controls the throttle and braking (I've had it apply brakes instead of downshifting when going down one particular hill).

Glad I've never had a vehicle with that issue. Not my experience at all. From Grand Ams to Jeeps to Toyotas to Ram trucks. They all have kept their assigned speed well.

Wow, what happened to this thread?

It's so far off topic, I think it should be closed. It used to be fun to come here in the morning and get a laugh. Not so much now.

Ok, let's hopefully get back on track.

This is what happen when you repurpose a trailer meant for lighter loads and use it on a harsh environment like logging.

That works for you, which is fine. But I can pay attention and use cruise control. I find it nice on longer drives, especially on wide-open interstates when you are doing hundreds of miles in a day.

Love cruise when towing up and down I5 from Sacramento to Olympia...

Who needs the stress of looking over your shoulder on a 12 hour drive with trailer.

Lots of miles with 2000 Ford Diesel Excursion... holds speed beautifully flat or grade towing my Kubota...

Maybe it is, but just without hydraulics and a big crack in the trailer...

Will be easier to unload with the new ramp

That was done so they can unload the logs and haul equipment.
