I keep wondering why y'all got yer cameras out taking pictures of other people doing stuff instead of paying attention to your driving.


I only do it stopped in a parking lot or at a traffic light.

If I'm driving, I don't handle a cell phone except to pass it to a passenger. The passenger can answer the call, take a picture, etc. I've been run off the road by someone on a cell phone, so keep your eyes on the road. I've also been a passenger with someone trying to use a cell phone and I've told them to put it down. I'm not adverse to taking it away from them if they're driving.

It's interesting when someone else answers the phone other than who the caller is expecting. When I handle the phone for the driver, I usually treat it as though I'm answering a business line.

I have a dash cam. I can take stills off the video on the card. Just touch one button to save it.

I did not say it about the phone, but it needed to be said. There are innocent people on the road. Recommend a dash cam or pull over to take pictures

I've had people blowing their horns, cursing at me, and giving one finger waves when I was pulled well off the pavement or in legal parking spots. It makes me wonder if they should be worrying more about their own driving.
I don't mean to single you out, your post just seems to be a good place to point out that some people are worrying about what I"m doing when they should be paying attention to their own driving.

Bluetooth is nice. If my phone rings I check signal strength, who it is, and find a safe place to pull over before taking the call.
Or just hit the "end" button.

Well that's just a brilliant idea.

Take an incident that has a driver 20-30% distracted (talking on the phone) and turn it into an incident that has a driver 100% distracted (physically wrestling with the driver for their phone).

Brilliant.

Take an incident that has a driver 20-30% distracted (talking on the phone) and turn it into an incident that has a driver 100% distracted (physically wrestling with the driver for their phone).

Well, technically they are 100% distracted with the phone, but it's only 20-30% of the time.

Speaking of phones, i read someplace, that older people use their phones differently than young people, no kidding right? But what i found interesting was the amount of time the eye balls were on the screen, varied significantly. "Youngsters" are more then double eye time on screens, the "old" people. "Old" people looked at the screen, half as often.
