I''ve driven about 90 miles at that speed or less, towing a snowmobile trailer with a big cement mixer on it. Afterwards I realized it wouldn't have been so top heavy if I'd taken the drum off and put that in the bed of the truck.

I realize that SOME people HAVE done it, just look at the drivers on the roads today....

Should have been none if the following drivers had their heads out of their asses. Around here they better learn real fast to watch out for slow moving vehicles on all the roads except for the limited access roads.

mmm the fix is called ratchet straps ....

Boards are notoriously slippery, especially if they are planed 1x stock stacked up. It takes more to secure a stack of those than many people first think....then they find out the rest of the story.

perhaps, I never had the experience but I always loop my strap around the stack.

Old inboard/outboard hull, with outdrive (and likely engine) removed. Hope they strapped it down well, as a lot of marinas get sloppy with their transom straps. That's a lot of weight removed, with outdrive and engine gone, and a lot of wind lift at highway speed.

Awful big boat for a single outdrive, obviously not set up for offshore reliability, likely an intercoastal waterway cruiser.

No straps…….he was only doing about 50 mph in a 65 mph zone, so presumably just taking it to a junkyard somewhere. Definitely wasn’t a boat owner heading on vacation.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned it, I couldn't see any transom strap in the photo. There's a whole section of the internet dedicated to guys who trailer without a transom strap, and then find their boat flying off the trailer when they have to stop hard, or sometimes with even just a good wind gust.

I actually lost a boat off the trailer in the parking lot at our boat ramp, a few years ago. Stormy day with super high winds, so while everyone else is sheltering indoors, I decide to go sailing. I love sailing in extreme conditions. Anyway, pulled the boat out of the water when I was done, drove up to the parking lot to take down the mast and pack everything away. I park the truck, and just as I'm stepping out of the truck, a gust of wind lifts the whole boat off the trailer and flips it into the parking lot. I had the bow eye tied to the trailer, so the boat was like a fish flopping on a line.

Thankfully a few mountain bikers and hikers were nearby, and they all got together to help me flip the boat back onto the trailer. No major damage done, just some minor scuffs from the asphalt and a scrape on the top of the mast that no one can see from down below.
