Looks to be a Ford product, so aluminum bed? He was probably ok til he hoss'd on the ratchet strap. Or hit the first bump. It's amazing how stupid some people really are, when you see stuff like this. Yeah, let's reduce the surface over which all that weight is exerted to just four small 3.5 inch squares, and then stand it up on top of some 18 or 20 gauge sheet metal... no problem! Even if just regular KD lumber, the psi at those four contact points where the timbers cross the bed rails is going to be substantial.
that's a winner right there !!
It was the pallet of Quikrete they had on top that caused the problem. It's amazing how stupid some people really are, when you see stuff like this. Actually, this piccy looks fake to me. The frame of the truck is parallel with the ground. If there was enough weight on there to do that much damage, I would think it would be squatting. At least my Super Duty would be.
Your point is valid, until they cinched the load down with a 10,000 lb ratchet strap hooked to the fenders.Actually, this piccy looks fake to me. The frame of the truck is parallel with the ground. ....or am I just being Mr. Naive and everyone else already sees this??

I think unloaded there'd be a rake with the bed higher. That's the look of a fully ballasted pickup there.Actually, this piccy looks fake to me. The frame of the truck is parallel with the ground.
