Hmmm, sounds to me like the guy that was supposed to do the once-over was sleeping on the job or the material that was installed on that side is defective. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Well, supposedly, the first 50 DK45S models are having the loaders installed by the Kioti service people instead of the dealers. This is something new and different, and may have something to do with protecting the new loader mounts against copying, but I think the dealers would do a better job of assembly and checking. The DK45S is new, and a lot of people are tying to get them, so I think they're rushing them out without proper checking.
I've said it many times, and I'll say it again. When you take delivery of a new tractor, go over ALL THE BOLTS and assure that they're tight. We all know how quality control seems to be a thing of the past, and it behooves us to make sure of these things ourselves as Donnyj did. Of course, thanks to Campwags post, Donnyj was more vigilant.
Any new persons reading this forum, take heed. Check your new purchase, no matter from what company you buy your tracdtor. These things are common among all brands.

I know the importance of checking the tractors over, but we as consumers are spending a large sum of money on these tractors and should not stand for this kind of quality. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

If the trucks that we buy were to fall a part and the windshields were to explode when the doors were closed how long would they stay in business? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
GM puts out good trucks and they are having troubles in todays economy. When I spend the same amount on my tractor as I did my 2004 one ton, diesel truck I expect the same kind of quality, durability and reliability. I do not care what the brand of tractor, it should be worth the money invested, and we as tractor buying consumers should not settle for such workmanship or quality control. The dealers should hold the manufactures responsible for the products they sell to us, and we, as the ultimate consumers should demand that both the dealers and the manufacturers are held to the exceptable levels. Why should we settle for less? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
We as owners are responsible for routine mantainance, and checks of all systems and attachments, but not the presale, out of the crate, set-up and delievery that we have paid for.
Our fore-fathers went to war and obtained our independence over a couple of cents tax lieved on tea. Would they stand for such quality and lack of representation?
Just my own humble opinion, and I am not singleing out any make of tractor or any particular dealers.
Thanks for listening,
Gary

I think you're absolutely right, and that's what you're doing when you have the dealer back up the sale with the follow up to fix these problems. It's a fact of life here that many people don't do what they're supposed to do isn't it? It sure is in my life, and I've had to go behind lots of people to assure that what I've bought is done the right way.
If you've ever seen a recall list, or service bulletin list for automobiles, you know that MANY vehicles hit the road without proper preparation, and problems that only manifest themselves with use.
Holding MFGs to their warranties is the only way to assure that your product is going to be right eventually. I know of no other way to make it happen since we're not involved with the production.
Let's face it, things are not as they used to be as far as quality products is concerned, and I don't see that it will ever be any better. There just seems to be too much apathy among the people who are supposed to insure a good product gets to market.

Let me first say, the dealer that sold me my tractor has gone beyond what would be expected as normal service. He is a good dealer and someone I would consider a friend. Glass is not covered under warranty but he is getting the door covered. Next the manual does state that all bolts need to be checked and tightened every 10 hours. He is also getting all the parts, pins and bushings needed to repair the loader sent right up to me. Rick is a great guy. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is what I consider a dealer doing what should be done.
A tractor of this size should be able to handle a grapple and do the work that it has. No abuse or mishandeling on my part.
Thanks for listening, and I am not trying to start any trouble, just open discusion.

Does anyone know if all of the Kiotis loaders for the different size tractors, have the same retainer washer with a small bolt?

As far as I have been told, the bolt, round cover and rubber washer are part of the self leveling loaders, and serve to keep the grease in.

It may be exclusive to the self leveling loader, but it is also on the 4 link at the bucket. Is it not on the regular loaders without self leveling at the bucket end?

Jerry,
The 1450 loader on my DK 35 has the same bolt/retaining washer setup ( this is not a self leveling loader).
So far I have not had a problem with the bolt/washer coming loose. I don't plan on waiting till I do. I'm going to locktight the bolts to avoid any problems like I've seen here..

Gary, I sure didn't think that you were trying to start any trouble. I'm just following in the conversation as well. I want people to know that they HAVE to check bolts on a regular basis because of the type of work loaders do.
As for the glass, I'm sure glad you're getting that covered. May have been a weakness in the making that just gave way as I've not heard of any other door glasses shattering. Let's hope the replacement doesn't have the flaw!
