Hi RedDog, here's a couple of instances that I've used the tow ball for in the last couple of days.

Now this is not real conventional but it worked well.
When I saw the pics it looked a little strange but the front of the old trailer was chained back to the tow ball!

It's all done with mirrors. (Well chains actually).
But it worked well.
