Wondering which would best suit my needs. I’d like to rent to try but no one seems to have these attachments for rent. I’ve got probably 20 acres of over grown duck lake and even more of hunting ground I need to clear. I’ll be running on my case 90xt, with tracks on probably pushing 10k, 85hp, I believe 23gpm standard flow. Most trees are probably 5-6”. The ones in the duck lake (drained) seem to grow in clusters of several in a group. I hear of the saws binding on bigger trees. I do like the ground level cutting. The shears I was looking at Titan and Jenkins. Jenkins is about 1k closer. Titan has good reviews but the titan front hoe I had the build quality was a little lacking but was usable. Their hydraulic cylinders were a joke. Maybe the shear is better?

Are the 'clusters' just closely spaced trees or mature 'sprouts' from stumps that were cut long ago? Guess which one is a lot more hassle if it predominates. I wonder if swamps weren't always swamps when trees are growing in them. Made that way by beavers?

I’d like a Marshall saw but kinda pricey. Was bidding on one till it went way over what I wanted to give.
The trees are a mixture of both. It was originally dozed and cleared. The trees grew like that then after mowing I’m sure there’s mature sprouts growing from the cut offs

clumps are the worst to deal with! ---- I would rent a dozer and git it done, but thats just the way I work! --- I dont mess around with unknown stuff and still have to go do it the right way to start with!
Saws bind for sure, shears are o.k. on singles but clumps??? dont think so!

I recommend renting a skid steer and a tree puller.
No stumps to deal with that way.

This is what I use, but doubt if you could find one to rent: Tree Puller?

Ive got a tree puller and skid steer. It does ok till the trees start to get larger then there’s some time spent rocking back and forth breaking it loose. And the trees I need down are in clusters.
