Most of the beam joints are mortise and tendon or at least rabbited. The inter-beam framing is nailed... It keeps the cost down for a barn frame.
If they do a house, they do all the traditional joinery for the visual appeal.
The loft beams will be rabbited in... They just placed them up there yesterday... The guy has a really cool 16" hand heald circular saw... It's huge...
Lots of mallet and chisel work....
