Ok Garry.....sounds good. If you go through Niagara Falls area and head east from there on I-90 then you'll likely be passing through NY's Capital District at some point. This is my neck of the woods. And, of course, you're always welcome to come around to my place. Would love to show you around for a few hours. Shelburne and Burlington then are only about a 3 hour drive from Cambridge.

Wow, you'll be just on the other side of the mountain from us!

Considering the amount of rain this summer, all bets are off! No way I'm going to try to predict anything...though you're right about the foilage peaking at higher elevations first.

Hey, are a bunch of us getting together for breakfast or..? Am I invited? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Pete,

Breakfast is a good idea /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif and most definitely, you're invited. In fact, you'd be a natural to be the resident tour guide and welcome wagon. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Do you know of one of those all you can eat breakfast buffet places. Maybe, better yet, how about one of those inexpensive, all you can eat dinner places for us guys who have to travel a few hours. That might be better.

Hey Pete! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sounds like you're the resident expert, so I'd be happy to leave things in your capable hands! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Like I said in my earlier replies, we might be able to beat the Empire Days crew from last year. I think you were one of them, weren't you Pete? How many came to that meeting? It was about 6, wasn't it?

Well, so far, we've heard from you, Rancar, Sugarmaker, JohnMillerIII, and Alan40. Including me, that makes 6 already! I bet we'll hear from a few more too! This could be really cool! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Now to make it official, we need either one of you to bring a tractor, get a local dealer to host the meeting for us, or we all wear our TBN hats. I'll bring my hat!

Let's see if we can get this off the ground!

Bet I get the award for travelling the farthest!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That time of year, finding a breakfast place is easier if you're an early riser. Finding a dinner place can be a challenge in the heart of tourist season. Besides, I'm on the Atkins Diet and still losing weight big time. How about we fire up the grill and do steaks here? No reservations required that way. Of course you'll have to put up with a bathtub in the dining room (long story), four golden retrievers waiting for you to drop something, three schizoid cats, possibly sheep by then blatting in the background, a wife who leaps to her feet and races out to the chickens with a shotgun if they make sounds of alarm (lost too many birds this year), and possibly a woodshop in varying states of destruction or rebuilding, depending on when I can get to it. Oh, and a pair of 1957 Dodge trucks scattered all over, with more parts in the lower meadow for storage.

Can you handle that much excitement?

Pete
